Philanthropic Efforts of Carolyn Young '58 Noted

November 12, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Carolyn (Duncan) Young, a 1958 graduate of DePauw University, "is one of the organizers of the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club Floral Fantasy fundraiser that raises money for college scholarships at the University of Dayton," reports the Dayton Daily News. "It’s been a success every year, and it’s getting better every year," Young tells the newspaper, adding, "I'm very rooted in this community."

The article notes, "Young attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. In addition to earning a degree in English, Young also joined the Pi Beta Phi fraternity and later became a member of the alumnae club." Her three children include "Son, Russ, who graduated from the Miami Valley School and DePauw University, is married with three sons and works as head of sales and in business and sales development."
