DePauw Improves to 2-1 with 20-point Win at Anderson

November 24, 2009, Anderson, Ind. —  DePauw, ranked 12th by and 13th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches' Poll, improved to 2-1 following a 66-46 win at Anderson. The Ravens dropped to 0-4 with the loss.

Anderson scored the game's first four points, but the Tigers went on a 19-5 run to take the lead for good. DePauw's largest lead of the half came at the intermission, 35-18.

After shooting over 53 percent in the first half, the Tigers hit just two of their first 12 field goal tries in the second half and the Ravens closed to within 11 at 41-30, six minutes into the second half.

The Tigers, however, rattled off 12 straight to push the lead to 53-30 with just over seven minutes left.

Katie Aldrich (pictured) led the Tigers with 16 points, while Katie Mathews added 12. Aldrich, Emily Marshall and Ellie Pearson each grabbed seven rebounds as DePauw held a 40-32 edge on the boards.

Tiffany Bowsher paced Anderson with 13 points and Lauren Leisure added 12. Leisure, Bowsher and Courtney Prater each hauled down five boards.

DePauw shot 42.6 percent from the floor with Anderson connecting on 34.6 percent.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, November 28, when they travel to Thomas More for a 6 p.m. game. The contest was originally scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
