Prof. Jason Fuller to Speak at Illinois Wesleyan

jason fuller.jpgJanuary 23, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Jason Fuller, assistant professor of religious studies at DePauw University, will speak February 15 at Illinois Wesleyan University's 11th annual Religion Colloquia. Dr. Fuller will discuss "Hinduism's 'Eastern Savior': the Rehabilitation of Chaitanya in Colonial Bengal," at 4 p.m. in room 205 of IWU's Center for Liberal Arts.

"Chaitanya was a monk and social reformer in eastern India during the early 16th century," notes an announcement. "Fuller has a doctorate in religious studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the recipient of grants from the university, as well as from the American Institute of Indian Studies. ectower duskFrequently conducting fieldwork in what is now Kolkata, Fuller is the author of several recent articles in the Journal of Hindu Studies, Teaching Theology and Religion and the Journal of Vaishnava Studies."
