Trinity Sends DePauw to SCAC Baseball Loser's Bracket

April 24, 2010, Millington, Tenn. —  DePauw managed just seven singles off of Trinity's Ben Klimesh and lost an 8-0 decision in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.

The Tigers dropped to 23-16 with the loss and face Rhodes in an elimination game. The Lynx eliminated Millsaps by an 11-1 score tonight. Trinity improved to 31-7 and advances to tomorrow's championship game.

Trinity scored all it would need in the first as Kevin Jackson singled to right, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a wild pitch. Jackson's sacrifice fly in the third scored Dylan Early and Evan Jones hit a solo homer in the fourth to make it 3-0. Trinity added three more in the sixth and two in the eighth.

Jon Newman, Taylor Hoffman and Alex Wright each had two of DePauw's seven hits. Two Tigers did have two runners picked off of first base in the loss. Trinity finished with 13 hits led by Jones' three and two each by Nick Pappas, Dominick Robusto and Patrick Frasier.

Mike Peterson dropped to 1-8 with the loss, while Klimesh improved to 7-0 with 11 strikeouts.
