"He basically was the one who gave them momentum last year when he came in for Spud in the second half when he got hurt," Frye says of Engle, recalling last year's matchup. " He came in and led them on three scoring drives (with two touchdown passes in a 34-24 Centre win). He's a good quarterback. The only thing he lacks is experience."

Hal Morris writes, "Engle, a senior, was 26 for 36 for 300 yards Engle_Michael_2008fb.jpgand six touchdowns last week as the Tigers, who were co-conference champions last season, opened with a 45-16 win over Rose-Hulman. He was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's offensive player of the week."
