DePauw Gains Weekend Split with Win over Hendrix

85753October 3, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw improved to 3-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 shutout against Hendrix at McKeen Field.

The win was the Tigers’ seventh shutout of the season, as the squad improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the SCAC. Hendrix fell to 1-6 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.

Margaret Ellis (pictured) gave DePauw a 1-0 lead at 21:06, scoring on an assist from Kimberly Trainor. It was Ellis’ 14th goal of the season. Trainor added a goal in the second half to propel the Tigers to the win.

DePauw recorded a 17-1 advantage in shots, putting 14 shots on goal in the contest. The Tigers also held a 15-5 advantage in corners.

Goalkeeper Liz Attewell earned her ninth win of the year, tallying one save. Hendrix’s Alyssa Havens had 12 saves for the Warriors.

The Tigers host Sewanee in SCAC action on Saturday, October 9 at 11 a.m.
