Tigers Top Hendrix in Two Overtimes

October 24, 2010, Conway, Ark. —  Margaret Ellis' goal midway through the second overtime lifted DePauw to a 3-2 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Hendrix. The Tigers improved to 11-5 overall and 5-2 in the SCAC, while the Warriors dropped to 5-8 overall and 1-16 in conference play.

Ellis gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead at 20:17 on Kimberly Trainor's assist before Addie McDonnell made it 2-0 just 1:36 into the second half on another Trainor assist.

The hosts scored twice in less than three minutes as Heather Newell closed the margin to 2-1 with Maggie DesPain's assist and Lexy Byrne knotted the score at 48:18 on Kelly Rappe's assist.

Ellis delivered the game-winner at 93:21 with Bridgette Shamleffer assisting.

The Tigers outshot Hendrix 15-13 and held a 13-12 edge in corners. DePauw's Liz Attewell totaled eight saves, while Alyssa Havens had 11 for the Warriors.

DePauw travels to Transylvania next Saturday and Centre on Sunday.
