Matt Dellinger '97 Nominated for 'Small Business Book Award'

December 12, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Interstate 69: The Unfinished History of the Last Great American Highway, authored by 1997 DePauw University graduate Matt Dellinger, is one of five nominees in the "economics" category of the third annual Reader's Choice Small Business Book Awards. Presented by Small Business Trends, the awards "celebrate the best books that small business people and entrepreneurs should read." Winners will be determined by online voting, which ends in three days.

Interstate 69 was released August 24. The book "is more than the story of a road," noted the August 25 Wall Street Journal "Bookshelf" column. Texas' Galveston County Daily News opined, "Matt Dellinger provides a fascinating and absorbing examination of a project that reveals as much about America today as it does about building an interstate."
Matt Dellinger has written for the New Yorker, the Atlantic, Oxford American, Smithsonian, the Wall Street Journal Magazine, and the New York Times, and has reported on transportation and planning for the public radio program The Takeaway. He worked for ten years on staff at the New Yorker as an illustrations editor, the magazine's first-ever multimedia editor, and the producer and host of "The New Yorker Out Loud," the magazine's first weekly podcast.
He returned to campus November 3 as a guest of the James and Marilou Kelly Writers Series.Back
