Senior Wide Receiver Alex Koors Named AFCA All-American

89354December 13, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw University senior wide receiver Alex Koors was today named to the 2010 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-America team. Koors caught 86 passes for for 1,255 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead all Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference receivers. He caught a touchdown pass in 10 of the Tigers' 11 games and tallied 100+ receiving yards in six games. (at left: Koors making a leaping touchdown catch)

Koors finished his career as the DePauw and SCAC all-time leader in receiving yards (3,850), total receptions (255), yards receiving per game (96.25), and receiving touchdowns (42). He is also the first receiver in league history to be named Offensive Player of the Year twice (2009 & 2010) and was named to the D3football.com All-South Region second team.85750

Koors is the first DePauw player to earn the AFCA distinction since JaMarcus Shephard did so in 2004.

The Tigers finished the 2010 season with a 9-2 record and made the NCAA Division III playoffs for the second consecutive year.
