#15-Ranked Women's Basketball Team Improves to 6-2

December 20, 2010

89063December 20, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — "Coming out of finals week, it was a tough week academically and the girls are exhausted, and so this is a great win," DePauw University head women's basketball coach Kris Huffman tells the Banner-Graphic of her team's 66-47 victory over Elmhurst College Saturday at Neal Fieldhouse. She adds, "We didn't shoot the ball well in the second half. I wish we could have done that a little bit better. But we defended fairly well and we rebounded well, so it's nice to get back on track in those two areas."

The Tigers, ranked 15th in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division III Coaches' Poll and 16th by D3hoops.com, improved to 6-2, while the Bluejays dropped to 4-6. DePauw was led by Katie Aldrich with 15 points.89416

Trent Scott writes, "The holidays haven't started yet for DePauw. A trip to Alma College of Michigan on Tuesday is the last game before a quick Christmas recess and it will be another chance to possibly get the bench some experience. That may or may not be the case, as Huffman [pictured at right] is aware of."
