#16 DePauw Softball Opens NCAA Finals Play This Afternoon

97074May 20, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — The 16th-ranked Tigers begin their quest for the NCAA softball championship this afternoon when they take on Messiah College in the third game of the Division III Softball Finals in Salem, Va. First pitch from the James I Moyer Sports Complex is scheduled for 4 p.m. this afternoon with live video and stats available through links at NCAA.com. DePauw is 31-9-1 on the season and coming off of Monday's 7-0 win over Hiram in the "if necessary" game of the Adrian Regional. The Tigers are making their second straight appearance in the Finals and third in the last five years.

Messiah, the 2009 Division III champion, is 39-5 after winning all four games in the Ithaca Regional. The Falcons are making their fourth appearance in the Finals and enter on a 14-game win streak.
