John Emison '11 Receives Honorary Doctorate from Vincennes U

100292December 6, 1956, Greencastle, Ind. — John C. Emison, a 1911 graduate of DePauw University, today received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Vincennes University in Indiana.  The degree was awarded at a special convocation marking the university's 150th anniversary.

Emison, vice president of American Smelting and Refining and chairman of the company's finance committee, is a native of Vincennes. He delivered the principal address at the Founder's Day dinner during Vincennes' observance.

After graduating from DePauw, Emison went on to earn an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
