DePauw Improves to 6-1 with Fifth Straight Win

101801September 21, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw improved to 6-1 and collected its fifth straight victory following a 2-0 win over visiting Franklin. The Grizzlies dropped to 4-4.

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead late in the first half as Andy Morrison (pictured) scored, unassisted, at 38:46. DePauw held that advantage through the late stages of the game and the Tigers' keeper Nathan Sprenkel helped preserve the shutout with a pair of saves in the final two minutes.

DePauw's final goal came with just 11 seconds left as Sam Meyer found the back of the net on Morrison's assist.

The Tigers outshot the Grizzlies, 25-7, and held a 4-3 edge in corners. Sprenkel had five saves in recording the shutout, while Lucas Hill totaled eight for Franklin.

DePauw returns to North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 24, when it hosts Hiram at 2:30 p.m.
