Tigers Fall to #4 Wittenberg for First NCAC Loss

October 4, 2011, Springfield, Ohio — In a battle of the final two unbeaten teams in North Coast Athletic Conference play, fourth-ranked Wittenberg topped DePauw 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-18). DePauw dropped to 14-6 overall and 5-1 in NCAC play, while Wittenberg improved to 15-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference.

Katie Petrovich led the Tigers with 12 kills, while Brianna Holder totaled 23 assists. Tori Bowerman finished with 11 digs with Petrovich, Abby Balbach and Hannah Nelson each totaling two blocks.

Kimmie Dyer led Wittenberg with 11 kills, while Meghan Vodopich led with 17 assists. Wittenberg totaled nine service aces with Hannah Riley, Christina Gilene and Vodopich finishing with two apiece. Riley had 11 digs with Katie Sumner and Miranda Sagle each totaling three blocks.

DePauw hosts Kenyon on Friday, October 7, at 6 p.m.
