DePauw Drops NCAC Home Match to Kenyon

October 7, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw rallied from one-set deficits twice, but visiting Kenyon took the decisive fifth set for a 3-2 (25-23, 14-25, 25-17, 15-25, 15-10) win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 14-7 overall and 5-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Ladies improved to 10-12 overall and 4-4 in conference play.

Abby Balbach led the Tigers with 13 kills, while Brianna Holder totaled 40 assists. Tori Bowerman led the way with 18 digs and Paige Thompson finished with eight blocks. Alex Messner was the team leader with four aces.

Ana Maricic and Mary Jo Scott each had 14 kills for Kenyon, while Kelly Heilman totaled 25 assists. Maricic led with five aces with Scott recording 18 digs and sharing the team lead with Laura Harris as each had two blocks.

DePauw returns to action tomorrow when it hosts Oberlin at 1 p.m.
