An article on Jonathan Velasquez, prize-winning poet and founding member of the Literary Workshop at the Quino Caso Community Arts Foundation in Quezaltepeque, El Salvador, notes a DePauw connection.  New York's Northport Journal reports, "He has published Tres Palabras (2005), Herbario (2007), and La Catederal del Genocidio (2009), translated into English by faculty and students of DePauw University in collaboration with Professor Joseph Heithaus."

Joe Heithaus (pictured), University Professor and professor of English, is the author of a series of poems, Poison Sonnets, which won a 2007 Discovery/The Nation Prize. His poems have appeared in Poetry, the North American Review and the Southern Review
