Millington, Tenn. - For the first time this season, 22nd-ranked DePauw was held scoreless as Illinois Wesleyan blanked the Tigers, 6-0, and eliminated them from the Millington, Tenn., Regional of the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.

The shutout snapped DePauw's streak of 71 games without being shutout and ended its season at 34-14. The Titans improved to 31-16 and stayed alive in the NCAA tournament.

Illinois Wesleyan loaded the bases in the second, but couldn't score and the teams headed to the fifth tied, 0-0.

In the fifth, Illinois Wesleyan's Mark McDermott led off with a walk and moved to second on A.J. Nathan's sacrifice bunt. Kevin Callahan walked before Bobby Czarnowski doubled home McDermott. Jon Frericks followed with a double that plated Callahan and Czarnowski.

The Titans' Zach Scott was hit by a pitch with one out in the sixth before McDermott singled and Nathan singled home Scott. Czarnowski's double down the left field line brought home MCDermott and Nathan.

DePauw had runners on third base in the third and fourth innings and had runners on first and second each of the final three frames, but was unable to reach the scoreboard.

The Tigers totaled seven hits led by two each from Alex Wright and Robbie Stein. Czarnowski had three of Illinois Wesleyan's nine hits and all were doubles, while Nathan added a pair of hits.
