DePauw Drops 2-1 Decision at Wittenberg

Springfield, Ohio - Angela Cotherman's goal midway through the first half gave DePauw a 1-0 lead, but host Wittenberg scored late in the first half and again in the opening 20 minutes of the second half for a 2-1 victory over the Tigers.

DePauw dropped to 4-10-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while Wittenberg improved to 10-3-3 and 6-0-1 in conference play.

Cotherman's score came on Megann Lear's assist at 22:10 before Wittenberg evened the contest at 40:25 on Lindsay Janmey's goal n Chelsey Marcum's assist.

Grace Winzeler delivered the game-winning goal on Kaylee Gialamas' assist at 64:36.

Wittenberg held a 22-9 edge in shots and a 12-6 margin in shots on goal. The hosts also led in corners, 7-4.

Emma Cooper recorded 10 saves in the loss, while Cassie Lythjohan had five for Wittenberg.

DePauw, in a three-way tie for the fourth and final NCAC tournament spot, hosts Allegheny on Saturday, October 27, at 11 a.m.
