Greencastle, Ind. – DePauw freshman freestyler Blake Lehmann earned Counsilman Hunsaker National Swimmer of the Week honors from CollegeSwimming.com after impressive times at the Indiana Intercollegiate in West Lafayette, Ind.

Lehmann finished in the top five in three separate races against the likes of Purdue and IUPUI, both NCAA Division I members.

In his only individual final, Lehmann finished fifth with a 47.82 time in the 100-yard freestyle.

Lehmann’s best finish of the day came in the 200 free relay as he teamed up with junior Jack Burgeson and sophomores Alex Alonso and Matt Bacinich to win the event by a full second after stopping the clock at 1:25.00.

Lastly by swimming the freestyle leg of the 200 medley relay, Lehmann helped the Tigers to a fourth-place finish in 1:37.17.

Lehmann returns to the pool on Saturday, October 27, when he gets his first chance to swim in his home pool as the Tigers’ host Washington-St. Louis at 1 p.m. in the Erdmann Natatorium.
