Preston Wills Named Regional Coach of the Year

FH2Greencastle, Ind. - After leading DePauw to a school-record 21 wins and its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship semifinals, head field hockey coach Gina Preston Wills has been named the Dita/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year.

Preston Wills, the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, directed DePauw to a 21-2 record this season including a 14-0 conference record and the NCAC title. The Tigers also won the NCAC Tournament and automatic qualification into the NCAA Championship.

Making their third NCAA appearance, the Tigers defeated Utica in the second round for the program's first NCAA win before topping top-ranked and undefeated Middlebury in the third round. DePauw bowed out of the tournament after losing to eventual champion Tufts in the semifinals.

Preston Wills completed her sixth season at the helm with an 88-32 record.
