Tigers Drop Opening Match of Spring Break Trip

Redlands, Calif. - The DePauw men's tennis team dropped to 2-7 on the season following an 8-1 loss to 11th-ranked Redlands. The Bulldogs improved to 9-5 with the win.

The Tigers picked up their lone point of the match when David Moss and Reid Garlock defeated Nick Cummins and Connor Hyde at second doubles by an 8-6 score. The tandem is now 4-0 in dual matches at number-two doubles.

In singles play, Redlands won five of the matches in straight sets except for third singles where DePauw's Chris Bertolini won the first set over Hyde, but Hyde won the final two sets including the third in a tiebreaker.

The Tigers face third-ranked Williams and Occidental on Sunday.
