326A0230Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw pounded out 15 hits and snapped a four-game losing string with a 10-5 win at Rose-Hulman. The Tigers improved to 15-17, while the Engineers dropped to 12-18.

The Tigers wasted little time in reaching the scoreboard as J.B. McCallum led off the game by being hit by a pitch, moved to third on Zach Galyean's double and scored when Jason Cohen grounded out.

Rose-Hulman countered in the bottom half of the frame as Kody Alayon walked and stole second before Andrew Benitez walked and Bobby Newman singled to load the bases. Matthew Turk lifted a sacrifice fly in foul territory to right that scored Alayon.

DePauw took the lead with four in the fourth as the Tigers loaded the bases on conseuctive singles by Connor Einertson, Cory Meixner and Robbie Stein. Pat Lyons then delivered a two-run, two-out doubled to right center and McCallum drove in a pair with a single.

That lead reached 7-1 in the sixth when Meixner singled and advanced to third on Stein's double. Ryan Allee plated Meixner with a single and Stein later scored on McCallum's sacrifice fly.

Galyean led off the seventh with a homer to left before Meixner walked and scored on Stein's two-out double to make it 9-1.

The first three Rose-Hulman hitters in the seventh reached and Alayon was hit by a pitch, scoring Patrick Klima. Three straight walks allowed three more Engineer runs cross the plate and trim the Tigers' lead to 9-5.

DePauw rounded out the scoring in the ninth with an unearned run.

Stein (pictured) went 4-4 to lead the Tigers, while Galyean collected three hits to extend his hitting streak to 15 straight games. Meixner and Lyons each added two hits. Hank Akard led the Engineers with two of their seven hits.

Conor Heneghan improved to 1-1, while Ethan Post slipped to 0-2.

DePauw returns to North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Wittenberg.
