#11 Tigers Can't Convert in Loss to Centre

August 31, 2013

Springfield, Ohio - The 11th-ranked Tigers dominated play, statistically, against Centre, but the Colonels held on for a 2-1 win over DePauw in a game played on Wittenberg's Edwards-Mauer Field.

Holding a 29-6 edge in shots and a 25-2 margin in corners, DePauw was unable to push through a second goal.

Both of Centre's goals came in the opening half as Alexis Hebert scored just 46 seconds into the contest on Chelsea Klein's assist. Klein then scored, unassisted, at 27:52 to make it 2-0.

DePauw's shot advantage was only 7-5, but the Tigers outshot Centre 22-1 in the second half. The Tigers reached the board with 7:39 left as Grace Fisher delivered an unassisted score.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, September 7, when they face Mary Washington in a contest at Christopher Newport.
