Prof. Jennifer Adams to Lead Discussion in Maine

July 26, 2014

"Professor Jennifer Adams from DePauw University will lead a discussion on academic freedom on Monday, July 28, at 7 p.m. at the Good Life Center in Harborside," notes an item in Maine's Ellsworth American.

"In this talk, Adams will explore how (Scott) Nearing's 1915 dismissal from the faculty of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania prompted university professors to create the American Association of University Professors and establish norms for tenure, which provides protection for academic expression that may be unpopular."

An associate professor of communication and theatre at DePauw, Jennifer L. Adam teaches courses in rhetoric and interpersonal communication, including gender and communication.
