TV Station Spotlights Volunteer Efforts of DePauw Students

September 26, 1997

September 26, 1997, Greencastle, Ind. - "In Greencastle, we heard that 60 percent of the students volunteered before they got to DePauw," WTHR's John Stehr noted this evening on the Indianapolis NBC affiliate's 6 p.m. newscast.  The station featured interviews and video footage from campus in a report on volunteerism.

"I'm only here for four years, but still while I'm here I want to make it the best place it can possibly be," DePauw student Ian Johnson says in the report.  "Students like myself are really generally concerned about that."

Stehr reports, "A national volunteer journal named DePauw one of the 15 top campuses in the country for youth volunteerism."
