Nobel Prize Winners Bardeen, Edelman & Anfinsen Coming to DePauw in September

March 2, 1973, Greencastle, Ind. - "Three Nobel Prize winners will lecture at DePauw University in September, it was announced today by William E. Kerstetter, president," notes today's Banner-Graphic of Greencastle.
"The trio of 1972 winners is scheduled to speak on consecutive weeks and conduct student seminars, beginning the second week of September."
The visitors to DePauw will include:
- Dr. John Bardeen, Nobel Laureate in physics, 1972 and 1956, during the week of Sept. 10-14.
- Dr. Gerald Edelman, Nobel Laureate in medicine, 1972, Sept. 18.
- Dr. Christian Anfinsen, Nobel Laureate in chemistry, 1972, Sept. 25.
The newspaper notes, "While the three Nobel winners are at DePauw it is planned that they will participate with undergraduates in a special senior science seminar course. Their public lectures will report on the implications of their own research."Back
