David Fitzgerald '93 Promoted to VP of Flight Operations for CommutAir

David W. Fitzgerald, a 1993 graduate of DePauw University, has been appointed vice president of flight operations of CommutAir. He also retains his title as chief pilot for the carrier, which operates as United Express, is 40% owned by United Airlines, and operates approximately 1,000 weekly flights to more than 30 destinations.  

A political science major at DePauw, Fitzgerald earned an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland. Today's announcement notes that "he has amassed over 12,500 flight hours throughout his career." He worked at Mesa Airlines before joining CommutAir in 2015.

"David's demonstrated business acumen and leadership experience in the regional airline industry will be invaluable as we continue to execute our rapid expansion plans of tripling in size over the next two years," states Joel Raymond, chief operating officer for CommutAir.
