DePauw Among Forbes' '25 Top Colleges in the Midwest'

August 15, 2019

DePauw University is #21 on the new 2019 Forbes list of the "25 Top Colleges in the Midwest."  The University of Chicago leads the rankings with four other Indiana colleges in the group, led by the University of Notre Dame (#3).

"Founded by the Methodist church, DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, supplements its liberal arts curriculum with experiential learning to prepare students for life after college," notes Forbes. "DePauw has over 40 programs in two schools: the College of Liberal Arts and the School of Music. During the three-to-four-week winter or May terms, students can study abroad, participate in faculty research or complete service or internships. There are over 100 student organizations as well as Greek life; the first sorority in the nation was established at DePauw. The Division III DePauw Tigers compete in a fierce rivalry with the Wabash College Little Giants for the Monon Bell trophy every year."

"Forbes’ college ranking is distinguished by its consumer-centric approach," said Caroline Howard, director of editorial operations. "The evaluation of the 650 undergraduate institutions is based exclusively on the quality of the education they provide, the experiences of the students and their post-graduate success and financial well-being."

The list, which was released today, is available here; there's also a direct link to the DePauw page.

Tomorrow the University will welcome 443 new students on the traditional move-in day.
