From My Perspective: Kris Huffman
|
Kris Huffman, head women's basketball coach and assistant director of athletics, moderated the Ubben Lecture Monday night with Tamika Catchings, four-time Olympic gold medalist and 10-time WNBA All-Star. We asked Kris to share her thoughts on the experience. “What an honor to spend time with the great Tamika Catchings. I have been a fan since her time at Tennessee and loved having her lead the way for the Fever. Two takeaways from last night: Tamika shared that her desire to be GREAT at all that she does...each day...is what drives her. She wants to be the best general manager, friend, daughter, etc. What a great way to live life. Our team learned how Tamika was able to really focus on each day as a player. She would write down a very specific, measurable goal prior to practice. After practice she would spend time evaluating whether she successfully met that goal. We hope to implement this daily focus into our practices.”
