Special Accessibility Requests for Commencement

DePauw University is pleased to provide accessibility accommodations for family members and guests. Requests for such accommodations should be received by Friday, May 3, 2019 in order to ensure availability. After such date, accommodations cannot be guaranteed, but a good faith effort will be made to fulfill requests.

All reservations, requests, and questions concerning accessibility accommodations can be directed to Juli Smith, Assistant to the Senior Advisor to the President for Diversity and Compliance, at (765) 658-4155 or

Wheelchair access is available at the east end of Harrison Hall. Ushers will refer and/or assist guests and their companion to the accessible seating areas reserved for wheelchairs. DePauw University does not provide or rent wheelchairs for personal use during the activities and ceremony.  However, if you have a guest in need of a wheelchair for personal use during the event, a number of health equipment rental facilities in the area may be able to assist you.

Drop-Off and Parking

Any vehicle may enter the turnaround at the east end of Larabee Street by Harrison Hall to drop off guests who are not able to walk long distances, and ushers will be present to assist. If a guest cannot walk from the drop-off site to the commencement site, ushers will have wheelchairs available to transport from the drop-off to the commencement site.  Accessible parking will also be available off of Larabee Street next to the Roy O. West Library and off of Seminary Street next to the Admissions Building (Emison Lot).  Questions can be directed to Juli Smith at (765) 658-4155 or
