Spring New Student Orientation

Welcome New Students! For the Spring 2020 Semester.

After being admitted to DePauw University, new or transfer first-year students should contact JC Lopez, Associate Dean of Experiential Learning and Director of Co-curricular Programs for First-Year Students and sophomore transfer students should contact Jeannette Johnson-Licon, Associate Dean of Experiential Learning and Director of Sophomore Co-curricular Programs. They will talk you through items you need to complete prior to arriving on campus and will answer any questions you have. 

New students for Semester II are required to attend New Student Orientation, which is Monday, Jan. 20 - Thursday, Jan. 23.

Incoming students should plan to move into their residence hall room between 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20; orientation will begin at noon.  A detailed orientation schedule can be found below:

CHECKLIST To be completed: 

  • Housing & Residence Life: Contact housing@depauw.edu for information regarding housing and preferences. More information regarding housing can be found here

  • Courses & Schedules: Contact the Office of the Registrar at 765.658.4141 or registrarsoffice@depauw.edu for information regarding course request.  More information regarding courses and graduation requirements can be found here

  • Transcripts: Submit your most up-to-date high school or college transcripts Request that your final high school transcript be sent to the Office of Admission. Questions can be directed to the Office of Admission at 765.658.4006 or admissions@depauw.edu.

  • Student ID: Follow these steps to make your Student ID. Your student id will be provided to you during your residence hall check-in and arrival.

  • Immunization & Insurance Records: Students are required to provide proof of personal health insurance or they will be automatically enrolled in a policy provided by the University and their student account will be charged.  Students with personal health insurance/those not wishing to be enrolled in the University insurance should complete a waiver at www.eiia.org/institution/depauw-university by January 31, 2020.  Students must also provide their immunization records through Med+Proctor (www.medproctor.com).  Failure to provide complete immunization records will affect registration for fall 2020.  Questions on insurance and immunizations should be directed to me at steviebaker-watson@depauw.edu.

  • Billing & Payments: Access CASHNet and create a Third Party PIN for parents/guardians or third parties needing access to your billing account for invoicing and payment of your student account balance. Instructions are available online here and in your portal in e-Services. Questions can be directed to the Cash Receipts Office at 765.658.4015.

  • Parking Pass: If you need a parking pass, find and submit that form from your portal in e-Services. Additional information is available online here or direct questions to DePauw Police at 765.658.5555.

  • Complete AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates: Instructions will be available in your portal in e-Services under "Campus Life" dropdown on the left-hand side of your page. This will be available in January 2020. 

  • Technology: Purchase your personal laptop and complete the student technology checklist. This will provide you information to your e-mail account, student portal, and Moodle.
