DePauw Men Collect Sixth Straight Win and 10th in Last 11 Contests

February 13, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Ryan Sever scored a career-best 26 points and matched a career-high with 11 rebounds for his first collegiate double-double as DePauw took an 84-70 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Sewanee.
The Tigers earned their sixth straight win to improve to 16-7 overall and 11-3 in the SCAC, while Sewanee dropped to 8-15 overall and 3-12 in conference play.
Sever and Steve Lemasters provided the offensive spark for DePauw early on, combining for the team’s first 11 points. Lemasters hit a three-pointer with 3:52 remaining in the first half to expand the Tigers’ margin to 37-25, but Valentino Bryant kept Sewanee within range, scoring five points in the last two minutes of the period to cut the DePauw’s lead to 46-38 at the break.
DePauw opened the second half with a 13-2 run to take a 59-40 advantage with 14:56 remaining. Sewanee got as close as 15 before the Tigers again pulled away with a 12-4 stretch.
Sever's 26 came on 10-of-12 shooting from the field as he knocked in his first nine attempts. He was one shy of his previous high in the first half alone as he scored 16. His 11 boards helped the Tigers to a 33-20 advantage on the glass.
Tommy Weakley hit all five three-pointers he attempted for 15 points, while Sean Haseley added 13 and Lemasters 12. Michael Wilkison dished out a career-high seven assists and Ross Simpson added five.
Bryant led Sewanee with 25 points and seven rebounds, while Lewis Affronti had 13 points and Bryan Beviacqua added 10.
DePauw shot 61.2 percent from the field in the win and was 14-of-23 from three-point range. Sewanee connected on 46.3 percent from the floor and just 37 percent in the second half.
