Studying Biology at DePauw
Designed to introduce you to the rigors of scientific methodology while providing broad exposure to the diversity of life at all levels, the biology program at DePauw offers a learning experience that seamlessly integrates theoretical understanding and practical application. A degree in biology is ideal for anyone who envisions a career in research, medicine, biomedical engineering, pharmacology, conservation or any number of related fields that require a strong scientific background.
Not only will you have the opportunity to study specific areas of interest such as genetics, microbiology, immunology and more, but you will also enjoy numerous opportunities to pursue meaningful research alongside professionals and peers. Whether it’s through a 10-week summer research internship with a professor on campus, a winter term trip to the Galápagos Islands, or an international study-abroad semester at a world-class research university, you will have no shortage of access to life-changing learning both in the classroom and in the lab.
