At DePauw, I uncovered my passion for social justice. Today I know where I want to lead. DePauw provided the platform.

What I find impressive about DePauw is its smaller size and breadth of opportunities. In the classroom, you have the opportunity to lead dialogue and develop your own voice. If you want to see a change, you can make it happen by creating or leading your own club. I landed an internship by simply inquiring when a non-profit advocacy group came and spoke on campus.
Nowhere else would I have found as transformative a college experience. I started here with an interest in the environment and politics. During my first year, I enrolled in a Winter Term course that took place in South Africa, which exposed me to life after Mandela and conversations about race. Later, attending DePauw Dialogue and Women’s Studies classes, and serving as a First-Year Mentor, opened my eyes to issues around identity and inclusion. At DePauw, I uncovered my passion for social justice. Today I know where I want to lead. DePauw provided the platform.
