Robust Student Experience

A DePauw education is more than just rigorous academics. The distinctive DePauw experience – low student-faculty ratio, honors and fellows programs, the residential campus, Greek life, athletics, the arts and study abroad, to name a few – create remarkable opportunities for our students. We seek to expand these and other opportunities to enhance the robust experiences that teach students important skills and prepare them to be confident, ethical, successful leaders in their post-graduate endeavors. To ensure that distinctive experience remains relevant today, we must invest in three key areas.

Revitalizing the university’s housing facilities will be an important signal of commitment to current and future students. Despite their iconic stature, many of our residence halls require renovation and improvements. As part of a comprehensive housing plan, DePauw will build a new first-year residence hall and complete a wholesale renovation of Lucy Rowland and Mason halls. Bishop Roberts and Longden halls will be revisited upon completion of the first two phases.

The creation of a Student Opportunity Fund will ensure each DePauw student can take part in transformational experiences such as study abroad, internships and undergraduate research. This commitment reinforces and formalizes the central importance of co-curricular engagement at DePauw.

Our athletic facilities also require important investments to elevate our student-athlete recruitment and competitive athletic advantage, and enhance the student-athlete and fan experience. Additionally, like faculty, coaches change lives. Endowing their positions will ensure access to the resources necessary to continue to attract and retain student-athletes.
