Workday Training for Campus - September Timeline & Dates

Workday at DePauw will be going online soon!
In preparation, Workday training sessions for all staff, faculty and students will begin next week, September 3-6. Following that, sessions and support will be available throughout the coming weeks leading up to DePauw's Workday Go-Live.
Details for each topic, including links to session times and a Recommended Learning Track to identify topics for your role on campus, are available at Workday Training at DePauw, which also provides links to session times and details.
Additional logistical information and related dates about making transitions from using ADP or e-Services to using Workday in preparation for Workday Go-Live will be provided to campus during the week of September 3rd.

Faculty Staff Convocation Follow Up
August 21, 2024
Dr. Andrea Young and Chief Information Officer Carol Smith recently shared some exciting details about Phase 1 of the Workday implementation during the faculty staff convocation’s breakout session. One of the exciting things announced included the two go-live dates for Phase 1: September 16 and October 1. On September 16, our hourly employees and student staff will kick off Workday at DePauw by entering their time through the Workday application. Additionally - recruitment efforts will be making the transition to Workday as well! Mark your calendars for October 1, when all remaining Human Resource functionality and Finance components go live.

Workday Platform Go-Live and Training Update
August 14, 2024
Workday Platform, Phase 1 of DePauw’s Workday Project, encompassing Business, Finance, Human Resources, and Payroll functions, is slated for launch across two dates: September 16, 2024, and October 1, 2024.

September 16: Hourly employee payroll entry and recruiting: Hourly employees, including student staff, will begin entering their working hours into Workday, and employee recruiting will be conducted using Workday. Training for payroll entry, absences, and recruiting for hourly employees, student staff, and their supervisors will be scheduled September 3-13. Open Labs will be available September 16-30 to provide ongoing support.

October 1, 2024: Financials and remaining Human Resource functionality: Financial-related activities, including commercial card reconciliation, purchasing, and requisitions, as well as absences for salaried (exempt) employees will be conducted using Workday. Updates on the Workday Project

Work continues on the Workday Project. The Project Team is deeply engaged in end-to-end testing. The training team is fine-tuning preparation for campus orientation and training that will begin later in the summer. And the Workday Liaisons are, well, liaising with their various stakeholders to share information, answer questions, and gather feedback to inform the project. In the meantime, here’s an FAQ that you might find helpful:
What is Workday and what systems will it replace?
Workday is a cloud-hosted ERP (enterprise resource planning) system for managing the activities and data for human resources, payroll, purchasing, finance, and (ultimately) student records at the university. DePauw’s Workday implementation is a multi-year project with two phases:

Project Team Highlight - Teresa Dugan

Teresa Dugan is a core team member of the Workday project. She serves as the Project Manager for the Workday implementation at DePauw University. Teresa has been crucial in coordinating the implementation, which includes configuration of the tenant, testing the configuration, integrations with other systems, and ensuring the project stays on schedule. Her expertise has been invaluable in the ongoing dialogue. Here is a little about Teresa:
Workday at DePauw is about making our daily lives more efficient as we work to align our processes with best practices in higher education. Bringing Human Resources (including payroll) and Finance into one system means our reporting will be easier and more consistent, which is exciting.
