Bold & Gold 2027 Update: DePauw marks strategic progress and sets sights on additional transformations

DePauw University has issued a comprehensive midpoint update to its Bold & Gold 2027 strategic plan, detailing its transformative change rooted in the liberal arts. This update affirms DePauw’s substantial progress across the plan's four pillars: Academic Renewal, Exemplary Student Experience, Institutional Equity and the ongoing pursuit of DePauw as a Flourishing University. Since the launch of the plan, the university has maintained disciplined stewardship and strong alignment with its mission to prepare graduates who are leaders the world needs.

Among the plan’s signature achievements is the launch of the School of Business and Leadership and the Creative School, along with deeper investments in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. These include new majors, cross-disciplinary initiatives and the universal Exploratory Foundations curriculum. DePauw is delivering on its promise of a holistic, student-centered education through an ambitious housing renewal initiative, the expansion of living-learning communities and a comprehensive approach to student wellbeing. This effort is reflected in the university’s robust fraternity and sorority participation rate, elevated athletic success and significant enhancements to student mental health support.

Looking ahead, DePauw will emphasize more interdisciplinary academic work, support for faculty and staff advancement and continued improvements to campus infrastructure. The university will build on its $32 million Growing Green and Gold Together partnership with the City of Greencastle, as well as continue investment in operational efficiency and transparent decision-making through the new Workday platform. By maintaining momentum, DePauw aims to sustain its leadership among innovative, inclusive liberal arts institutions that serve students and communities and generate impact.
