Pianist May Phang, professor of music, recently released a CD showcasing her interpretation of Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations. Digital album downloads are available on iTunes and Amazon Music, or available to stream on Spotify or Apple Music. Phang’s previous CD, “Travels through Time,” is available to stream on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music.
Glen Kuecker, professor of history, is the co-author of a paper, “Deconstructing masculinity in water governance,” published online July 30.
Brian Wright, associate professor of kinesiology and chair of the Kinesiology Department, was quoted in “Health Benefits of Swimming and Why It’s So Good for Stress Relief,” published Aug. 3 in Editorial Times.
Derek Ford, assistant professor of education studies, was interviewed by the Indianapolis Recorder for “‘It certainly wasn’t a love fest’: Indianapolis Public Library staff call for CEO resignation,” a story published July 27.
In a review of Ford’s latest book, "“Inhuman Educations: Jean-François Lyotard, Pedagogy, Thought,” the reviewer commented on Ford’s “evident passion and expertise” on Lyotard and said Ford has a writing style “excelling in expressivity, nuance, and accessibility.” Ford recently responded to the review.
Deborah Douglas, Eugene S. Pulliam distinguished visiting professor of journalism, will be a guest at 11 a.m. EDT today on “All Sides with Ann Fisher,” a public affairs radio program on WOSU-NRP in Columbus, Ohio, on which she’ll discuss her book, “U.S. Civil Rights Trail: A Traveler’s Guide to the People, Places, and Events that Made the Movement.” She also will be a panelist Aug. 13, discussing “Transformative Journeys with Moon Travel Guides.”
Jeff McCall, communications professor, was quoted July 28 by Fox News in “News Emmy Award nominations roasted by critics as ‘laughable’ liberal love fest celebrating media elite.’” He wrote an opinion piece, “Congress should butt out of Supreme Court’s business,” which appeared in The Hill July 31.
