Professor Ray Burgman joined the DePauw University faculty in 2001 as a pre-doctoral faculty fellow through a program currently called the Consortium for Faculty Diversity (CFD). CFD strives to increase diversity in liberal arts institutions by diversifying the applicant pool and by diversifying the academic nature of the campus. Burgman was recently tenured and promoted. Burgman attended New College of Florida as an undergraduate and received a bachelor's degree in Economics. She later attended the University of Florida for her master's and doctoral degrees. Her research area is public finance, specifically individual tax preparation. As a microeconomist, Burgman has interest in the future of the alternative minimum tax and consumer choices and behavioral economics.
