DePauw Mourns the Passing of Junior Shelby Evans

June 8, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Shelby L. Evans, who would have been a DePauw University junior in the fall, passed away yesterday at her family's Carmel, Indiana home. She was 21 years old.
Evans was an economics major and Management Fellow and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She also served as a mentor to first-year students.
"The entire DePauw community mourns for Shelby and sends its sympathies to her family and many friends," says DePauw President Brian W. Casey. "Shelby made a lasting impact on our campus in the two years she studied and lived at DePauw and she will be deeply missed."
Visitation is set for 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday. Both will take place at East 91st Street Christian Church, 6049 E 91st Street in Indianapolis.
