Roy O. West Library
A renewed academic heart
After a $30 million, 18-month transformation, Roy O. West library reopened in early 2023, reestablishing itself as DePauw’s academic heart. The modernized building offers state-of-the-art tech labs, 16 study rooms, enhanced Learning Commons space, modernized archival storage and services, Café Roy and dynamic gathering spaces like an expansive two-story reading room, while preserving treasured features like the treehouse study area. Known affectionately as “Roy O.,” it is the hub for group collaboration, multimedia projects, research and quiet study, a building that exemplifies DePauw’s commitment to an innovative liberal arts education.
