Dedication to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Foundation of the Center of Diversity and Inclusion

The graduates of 1995 of DePauw University, Justin P. and Darrianne Howard Christian, have committed more than $500,000 in support of improvements to diversity efforts of the Association of African American Students and Cultural Resource Center and the essential programming to enhance diversity and inclusion at this university. On November 11, 2017, there was a dedication ceremony for The Justin and Darrianne Christian Center for Diversity and Inclusion which was erected to continue the work of strengthening DePauw's dedication to its values of diversity and inclusion.

Domestic students of color represent 19% of the student body and international students represent 21% of the student body. DePauw students, faculty and staff members use this space to experience the vast array of cultural, religious and ethnical events that are held throughout the academic year. The new center has strengthened DePauw's value by creating a safe space that includes and involves the entire campus.
