Jane Cooling Brady Professor of English

Professor Istvan Csicsery-Ronay received his B.A. from Bennington College, and his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University. A co-editor of Science Fiction Studies, and founding editor of Humanimalia: a Journal of Human/Animal Interface Studies, ICR has published widely on techno-cultural theory and science fiction. He co-edited Robot Ghosts and Wired Dreams: Japanese Science Fiction from Origins to Anime (Minnesota, 2007) and The Wesleyan Anthology of Science Fiction (Wesleyan 2010), and is the author of The Seven Beauties of Science Fiction (Wesleyan, 2008). ICR has received two NEH Fellowships (1987-88, 2000-01) and a Fulbright Lecturing Award to the Janus Pannonius University in Hungary (1992-94). He has been the recipient of four Faculty Fellowships and a DePauw University Professorship. He teaches a wide variety of courses, including World Literature, Shakespeare’s Comedies, Science Fiction, The Great Novel, Film Theory, Science Fiction Cinema, and Television Drama.
