(1) I acknowledge that in the course of my work or volunteer activities for DePauw University, I may have access to documents, data or other information about alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the institution, some or all of which may be confidential, whether or not it is specifically “labeled” or identified as confidential.
(2) Except as required by my activities, I agree to never, either during or after my employment or volunteer assignment with DePauw University, directly or indirectly use, publish, disseminate or otherwise disclose to any third party, or use for personal gain, any information acquired in the course of my activities. Accordingly, I also agree at the end of my employment or volunteer assignment to destroy or return to the University all documents and other materials that may contain confidential information.
(3) All information, regardless of whether it is in hard copy, electronic, audio or visual formats, is to be maintained in the strictest confidence and stored securely to prevent access by unauthorized individuals. Alumni contact information is to be used for one-to-one and small group communication for the purpose of promoting DePauw University programs and events. Mass e-mail messages of more than 40 recipients must be executed through the Development and Alumni Engagement.
