An Internship Contract is available here
Students: This should be included in #3 on your contract: You will be required to submit a final report of your work (keep a journal), participate in the fall poster session and be prepared to do in internship presentation for underclassmen when requested by the SRF Director
Release forms are also required for any students traveling off campus for internships, summer research and/or conferences. Information must include emergency phone numbers, parent name(s), medical information.
Frequently asked questions about Internships: 1. Who is eligible for an off campus internship? Any and every student is eligible but the most likely candidates are those who have completed at least two years of college education and preferably, three years. 2. How to I find an internship? Use this website and click on the link to the right. Or Google® Research Experience for Undergraduates or check DePauw Science Department websites and bulletin boards. Information is easy to obtain if you look for it! 3. What is needed to get an internship? Good grades (3.0 gpa+), letters of recommendation from faculty members (http://www.depauw.edu/univ/handbooks/dpuhandbooks.asp?ID=530&parentid=518), typically a resume and cover letter (depending on the location) to accompany the application (usually found on-line). 4. How can I afford an internnship? Most summer internships provide stipends and many provide housing and transportation allowances. What a great summer experience for a science student! Why not apply?
