398EA: AdvStudio:Landscape Photography: Environmental Activism

Would you like to learn how to create a compelling landscape photograph while also learning how photographs have been used to raise awareness about environmental crises and climate change? In this studio/seminar class, we will examine the role of photography in documenting the environment since its invention in 1839. We will photograph regularly in the local landscape and learn about the work of landscape photographic activists from the past 180 years. Our units will cover trees/seeds, water/ice, sky/air, soil/earth.
