About
Willis “Bing” Davis, a 1959 graduate of DePauw University, is a nationally recognized artist, educator, and curator based in Dayton, Ohio. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, he has taught at every level, chaired the Art Department at Central State University, and directed the Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center. His work has been shown across the United States and internationally, and he continues to create and mentor through the Davis Art Studio, EbonNia Gallery, and SHANGO Center in Dayton.
In this talk, Davis takes the audience on a special journey from Diamond Avenue on the east side of Dayton, Ohio, to DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana—an unusual story of art, sports, and community. His narrative moves like a river, sometimes quiet and still, other times rapidly rushing and changing course, shaped by mentors, family, and community. Along the way, he reflects on the DePauw connections and relationships that helped chart the flow of his life’s path.

About
A SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS
By Carlos Goldoni and Translated by Edward J. Dent
Adapted and Directed by Caroline GoodIn the tradition of commedia dell'arte, traveling acting troupes playing stock characters challenged social norms and politics in the guise of entertainment. In this classic comedy set in Venice, mayhem erupts when the wily—and chronically hungry—servant Arlecchino hatches a zany scheme to double his wages (and his meals) by serving two masters at once amidst the intrigue of lovers, misers, and blowhards. Identities are mistaken, engagements are broken, swords are drawn, and lovers are finally reunited in this adaptation of Carlo Goldoni’s commedia dell’arte masterpiece.
November 6–9, 2025, Moore Theatre, GCPA — 7:30 p.m. (Nov. 6–8) & 3 p.m. (Nov. 9)Tickets available two weeks before opening night here or at the box office one hour before the start time.
