We accept the Common Application, the DePauw Application or the Coalition Application (all available August 1). DePauw University does not charge an application fee.
When you begin your online application, you may save your work at any point and continue at a later time.
Transcripts must be sent to DePauw directly from your current or most recently attended secondary/high school. These should include grades or marks from the last four years of secondary school (or at least three years if you are still in school).

Language and Translation
All documents must be submitted in the original language of issuance (if not English) and with a certified English translation. Translations should be verified by your school or a local EducationUSA office.
Examination Results
If you have taken national, regional or state board examinations (such as Indian CBSE/ISC/State Board, African WAEC, Cambridge IGCSE/GCSE, etc.), your counselor must submit your official exam results along with your high school records.
Submission Guidelines
We do not accept documents sent by applicants, even if sealed and stamped. All documents must be sent directly from your school’s counseling or administration office via the Common Application or by mail. We do not accept these documents via email.
Advanced Credit and Graduation
If you attend a school with an American (AP), Cambridge or International Baccalaureate curriculum, see our advanced credit policy for details.
If admitted and you choose to enroll, you must also submit proof of graduation and a final, official transcript.

One letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or community group leader is required. You will enter this recommender's contact information in your online application.
Test scores are optional for all first-year and transfer applicants enrolled in a public, private or charter school. DePauw accepts self-reported scores, the student score report, official scores from a testing center or scores reported on your official high school transcript. Test-optional applicants are still considered for merit-based scholarships.

You may self-report scores through your applicant status portal.
If English is not your first language, you must submit an official score report from TOEFL (minimum 85 iBT, 20 per section; 563 PBT; 223 CBT; 543 TOEFL ITP Plus for China), IELTS (minimum 6.5), Duolingo (minimum 110) or PTE (minimum 57). We accept TOEFL Home Edition, IELTS Indicator and PTE At-home version. MyBest Scores are accepted for TOEFL.
Automatic English Proficiency Waivers
Applicants from the following countries/regions automatically receive an English proficiency waiver:
Anguilla, Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Dominica, Grand Cayman Islands, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Montserrat, New Zealand, Saint Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tobago, Trinidad, Turks & Caicos Islands, United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales).
Additional Waiver Option
If you have spent your entire secondary education at an English-medium school, you may request a waiver by emailing intladmission@depauw.edu.
All international applicants must submit proof of financial support to complete their application and be considered for admission to DePauw.
For the 2025–26 academic year, the estimated amount required to qualify for an I-20 form is $77,220 (minus any financial awards you may receive). This estimate is subject to change if official tuition rates are adjusted. A breakdown of tuition and fees can be found here.
Required Documentation
DePauw University Student Certification of Finances (required for all international applicants, regardless of need-based aid interest)
Supporting financial documents (such as recent official bank statements, employment letters verifying parent income or a letter of financial support from a private sponsor)
The Certification of Finances will be available in your applicant status portal after you submit your application. No other forms (such as the International Student Financial Aid Application or CSS Profile) will be accepted.
Though an interview is not required, it can help strengthen your application for admission.
DePauw accepts Vericant and InitialView interviews as an optional supplement to your application.
