Fiechter, Bethany, M.A.

Coordinator of Archives and Special Collections with rank of Assistant Professor
Bethany Fiechter (FEEK-ter) provides leadership and direction for activities within the Archives and Special Collections. Prior to working at DePauw, Bethany was the head of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Division at the Indiana State Library (2013-2020) and the archivist for manuscript and digital collections at Ball State University (2010-2013). She received her AS in graphic design from Vincennes University (2005); BA in art history with a minor in religious studies from the Herron School of Art, Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis (2007) and MLS with a specialization in Archives and Record Management from Indiana University-Bloomington (2010). Bethany currently serves as the past president of the Society of Indiana Archivists (2022-2024) and is a member of the Society of American Archivists and Midwest Archives Conference. Her interests include project management, exhibition design and enhancing access to archival collections.
