Local Artist Christie Anderson Showcases New Exhibition at The Peeler Art Galleries

Greencastle, Ind. – Local artist Christie Anderson is excited to present her latest exhibition, "A Journey in Miniature," at The Peeler Art Galleries. The exhibition, which features Anderson's unique artwork in the form of miniature environments, will be on display from Jan. 29 to June 30, 2024.
Anderson's exhibition offers a glimpse into her world of miniature creations. Her intricate dioramas, built on a 1/6th scale, invite viewers into another realm where dollhouse dolls, measuring approximately 11-1/2 inches tall, interact within meticulously crafted rooms. These rooms serve as immersive spaces that reflect a different reality, providing a much-needed escape for viewers during challenging times.
With a keen eye for detail and a flair for styles such as kawaii and goth, Anderson's dioramas transport viewers to faraway places where they can create their own narratives. Her use of various materials, including wood, plastic, paper, and mass-produced miniatures, adds depth and authenticity to each scene. The exhibition showcases Anderson's skillful craftsmanship and her ability to transform everyday objects into miniature wonders.
A passionate collector and player of dolls, Anderson found solace and connection through social media platforms, particularly Instagram. She became part of a community that shared her love for dolls and miniatures, leading her to embark on the journey of creating dioramas. HOURS AND LOCATION
The galleries at the Richard E. Peeler Art Center are open Monday-Friday 10 am – 4 pm; Saturday 11 am – 5 pm; Sunday 1 pm – 5pm. The galleries are closed during University breaks and holidays. The exhibition is free.
